R.S. Field, also known as The Ionizer, is Webb Wilder's long-time friend,
producer, songwriting partner, and the original drummer for Webb Wilder and the
Beatnecks. The Ionizer was on my Webb discussion list back in 1995, and he
posted this information about the "Human Cannonball" video:
The Human Cannonball video was done for Island Records by a Rap Video Producer (square caucasian) and cost more than the 1st two records combined. On that day (in N.Y. city), they lost Webb, a storm blew the circus tent over...WW's road manager Mike Janus (current producer of Jason & the Scorchers) got the tip of his finger cut off (the M.D.s fixed it)...Les and Donny almost came to blows in the hotel lobby screaming at each other...and I had to wear a damn gorilla costume and lie in a puddle of water. Our revenge was making them convert it to black & white (it was actually more costly to shoot in b&w). Go figure. | |||||||||||||
