Jammin' at Hippie Jack's logo On Friday, May 28, 2010, Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks performed in Crawford, TN. The show was recorded for the Jammin' at Hippie Jack's TV show, which airs on various PBS stations. The performance aired in two parts in June 2011.

This lineup included Webb Wilder, Bob Williams (guitar), Tom Comet (bass), and Marshall Richardson (drums).

Music City Roots logo On Wednesday, June 1, 2011, Webb Wilder appeared on the live weekly radio show "Music City Roots," which airs on WRLT out of Nashville. The show originated from the Loveless Café Barn in Nashville and featured several additional performers.

This was a unique trio version of Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks, with Jimmy Lester playing drums and George Bradfute handling the bass duties. The songs they performed were "Wild Honey," "Mississippi Honky Tonkin'," "Who Will The Next Fool Be?," "Pretty Is As Pretty Does," and "Poolside." They then participated in the closing all-star jam of Hank Williams's "Lost Highway". You can hear Webb playing most of the lead guitar on the jam, as well as singing one verse.

WUTK logo On Saturday, November 27, 2010, Webb Wilder appeared as a guest on Knoxville's WUTK radio station to promote his show that evening at Barley's. Webb performed solo acoustic versions of "Wild Honey" and another song. Unfortunately, traffic delayed Webb's arrival at the station, and my timed recording ended just before Webb's second song. Still, most of the appearance was captured and can be downloaded as an MP3 below.


Music City Roots logo On Wednesday, November 10, 2010, Webb Wilder hosted the live weekly radio show "Music City Roots," which airs on WRLT out of Nashville. The show originated from the Loveless Café Barn in Nashville and featured several additional performers.

Webb performed a solo version of "Too Cool For Love," then led the all-star jam on "Up On Cripple Creek Road" at the end of the show.

BBC Radio2 logo On Thursday, September 8, 2010, Webb Wilder and Will Kimbrough were guests on BBC Radio 2's "Bob Harris Country" to discuss the upcoming Americana Awards. The showed aired on BBC Radio 2 on Friday, September 9, 2010.

The recording below omits all the songs played except for Webb's "Honky Tonkin' (In Mississippi)" and a live performance by Will Kimbrough.


WRQQ logo On Friday, May 7, 2010, Webb Wilder dropped by the studio of 97.1 WRQQ in Nashville to discuss the terrible flooding of Nashville. He also performed a solo acoustic version of "The Rest (Will Take Care Of Itself)."

WMNF logo On Friday, March 5, 2010, Webb Wilder and Tom Comet were guests on Tampa's WMNF radio station. Webb performed Conway Twitty's "Lonely Blue Boy" and "Pretty Is As Pretty Does," as well as bits of several other songs.

KDHX logo On Friday, December 11, 2009, Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks stopped by St. Louis radio station KDHX to record a set for airing on December 18. The Beatnecks this trip were Bob Williams, Tom Comet, and Marshall Richardson. They performed "She's Not Romantic," "The Only One," "TCB Yodel #9," and "Too Cool For Love."

Music City Roots logo On Wednesday, November 18, 2009, Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks (Bob Williams, Tom Comet, and Jimmy Lester) appeared on the live weekly radio show "Music City Roots," which airs on WSM 650 AM out of Nashville. The show originated from the Loveless Café Barn in Nashville and featured several additional performers.

The performance included "Looking For A Fool," "Flat Out Get It,", "Too Cool For Love," "Sudden Stop," "Ju Ju Man," and "Honky Tonkin' (In Mississippi)." After the songs, there was an interview with Webb, followed by a group jam on "Will The Circle Be Unbroken," led by Charlie Louvin. Webb sang the second verse of the song.

The appearance was to promote the following night's live, on-air performance at Loveless Café. The 14-minute appearance includes an interview and an acoustic performance of "She's Not Romantic."

On Monday, September 28, 2009, Webb Wilder appeared on The Lowdown Hoedown with Greg Martin on WDNS 93.3 in Bowling Green, KY. Greg Martin is best known as the lead guitarist for the Kentucky Headhunters, among many other bands (including his latest, Rufus Huff). "The Lowdown Hoedown" is a weekly radio show devoted to the Blues. The September 28, 2009, show included a 40-minute Webb Wilder interview to promote WebbFest IV.

On Friday, June 26, 2009, Webb Wilder and the Beatnecks appeared on Studio B on WNCW 88.7 in Spindale, NC. The appearance was in promotion of their show at the Grey Eagle in Asheville that evening.

The band consisted of Webb Wilder, Tom Comet, and fill-in members Rick Kurtz (guitar) and Marshall Richardson (drums). They performed electric versions of "Too Cool For Love," "Pretty Is As Pretty Does," "Come Around," and "Ju Ju Man." In between the songs, Webb was interviewed. On Monday, May 4, 2009, Webb Wilder appeared on The Lowdown Hoedown with Greg Martin on WDNS 93.3 in Bowling Green, KY. Greg Martin is best known as the lead guitarist for the Kentucky Headhunters, among many other bands (including his latest, Rufus Huff). "The Lowdown Hoedown" is a weekly radio show devoted to the Blues. The May 4, 2009, show was a Webb Wilder special which included most of the songs from Webb's More Like Me CD, along with tracks from other albums such as Doo Dad. The rest of the show was filled out with songs picked by Webb.

Webb and Ted Webb and Ted

The short movie "Horror Hayride," directed by Stephen Mims and starring Webb Wilder, contains an otherwise-unreleased song sung by Webb and Ted Roddy called "TCB Yodel #9", which has the great chorus, "If You Don't Think Elvis Was #1, You're Full of #2". Here is an MP3 of the song, with some of the movie dialogue leading up to it.

The 1992 movie Paradise Park includes Webb Wilder as the character "Cowboy." The movie has been released on DVD as Heroes of the Heart. The closing song for the movie was called "Paradise Park" and was written and performed by Webb Wilder and Park star Larry Groce.
